Nyota – Mission in Action – Nakuru –
A 70 acre compound which includes 2 permanent orphanage buildings, each housing about 45 children, a school, kitchens and laundry facilities. The children are engaged, happy and healthy. They live full time on the grounds and are provided with food, clothing, housing and education.
MIA has recently lost a major financial contributor. Founder, manager and ‘dad’ Ivan and his crew are doing everything they can to maintain the incredible level of care for each child as well as continuing to support the
surrounding community.
Home of Grace – Kisii –
HOG is so excited to have bought their own plot of land and after only 6 months, to have dormitories and common area buildings completed to the point where they can be lived in.
We met the teenagers for whom we are paying school fees. We also visited the school that 3 of the girls attend.
The smaller children were very happy to receive new clothes. They took the time to write letters of thanks which we brought back.
Caretakers – Feed the Children – Nairobi –
SOCKS was pleased to bring a big box of new books. Even more wonderful was to see a brand new school being built. A big change from the corrugated tin classrooms which make up the present school. Construction should be finished in October. Children and adults are thrilled!
